Callen-Lorde Community Health Center provides sensitive, quality health care and related services targeted to New York’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities — in all their diversity — regardless of ability to pay. To further this mission, Callen-Lorde promotes health education and wellness, and advocates for LGBTQ health issues.

Callen-Lorde year end appeal designed this season with stories of the power and importance of standing up for healthcare and equality. Designed with beautiful portraits photographed by Nick Blumenthal.

Callen-Lorde continues to support the LGBTQ community through outreach, research, advocacy and policy, training and education. This is also the year of expansion and growth for Callen-Lorde and we designed their annual report this year with that in mind. Cover art courtesy of the fantastic illustrator Ben Wiseman.

Callen-Lorde has a new look! Building off a previous grant from the Taproot Foundation, Award winning agency Mother Design developed their new identity completely pro bono, intimately working with the Communications Team to create a look and feel that would serve as a visual ambassador across all platforms and throughout all locations. We love it and are excited to implement the bold new look across all materials!

We have been designing informational, promotional, and outreach materials for Callen-Lorde for many years. We are very proud of their continued excellence in the LGBTQ community providing much needed healthcare and support to the most vulnerable communities. Our work pales in comparison to the achievements of Callen-Lorde. Our hope is that we design with the message being the most important; clear and understandable, friendly and at times funny, joyous and empowering.

Information and outreach

One of the many challenges with reaching the underserved is expressing the importance of care without coming across as the same old services provided by the healthcare industry that have marginalized the LGBTQ community for so many years. Working closely with Callen-Lorde throughout the years has provided us with the most important tool in our design box... Beautiful photographs and amazing stories from the people that have been helped and saved through the care provided by Callen-Lorde.

Fundraising is a big part of building a solid foundation for Callen-Lorde to provide the care to their patients regardless of ability to pay. It's a chance for us to design a little outside the brand and have fun!
